In 2008, Riverfest will again enlarge the area that requires a button for admission. The area will be identical to the one in 2005. Finding solutions to rising costs and declining sponsorship opportunities without increasing the cost of a button has been a challenge of the board for several years.

During the past 25 years, the Riverfest Board of Directors and Commodores have contributed over $1,200,000.00 to volunteer community groups, charitable organizations and Riverside Park. This does not include our donation to the Riverside Park sprinkler system or $25,000.00 to a previous Bandshell renovation. Riverfest is very grateful for the support of our sponsors, through contribution, and the fest-goers, through their purchase of a $4.00 pre-fest button.

On the 4th of July, we will not require a button, other than the food, beverage and North Stage areas. However, we hope that our July 4th Riverfest patrons will also support the fest and the La Crosse Jaycees sponsored fireworks by purchasing a button, helping to ensure that Riverfest will remain a viable festival for the next 25 years.

As in the past, we will continue to accommodate special needs groups by providing buttons to use during their visit to Riverfest. In addition, as in previous years, no button will be required for children ages 12 and younger.

Thank you to the La Crosse Area Communities for your continued support of Riverfest, it's volunteer Directors and staff, the organizations that take part, the wonderful local entertainers and our corporate sponsors. We look forward to beginning the next quarter-century July 2nd - 6th at Riverfest 2008.
